"Snickers"
SHOWS DRIFT SNICKERS

Shows Drift Snickers is a mare whose story is one of quiet resilience, strength, and fate. A daughter of Shows Blue and out of Quatros Candy Bar, or “May,” who herself is a daughter of Quatro Drift, Snickers represents a blend of legendary Driftwood breeding known for producing tough, versatile ranch horses. Her pedigree is steeped in performance, cow sense, and a hardiness that reflects the rugged country she was born to work.

WE WILL BE GETTING UPDATED PHOTOS, HEIGHTS, WEIGHTS AND SHOE SIZES POSTED VERY SOON.

From the very beginning, Snickers stood out. As a filly, she possessed a kind and quiet demeanor that immediately caught my attention during my time working with Steve and Jalene Sorenson. I halter broke Snickers, and the connection between us was immediate and strong. In no time at all, Snickers had earned a special place in my heart, with plans for the filly to become part of my personal string of ranch horses.

However, life had other plans. Snickers returned from the range one day with a broken leg, an injury that nearly ended her life. The vet wasn’t sure she would even survive. He gave us the choice of either putting her down or turning her out and hoping she would recover on her own. We chose to give her a chance, and against the odds, Snickers pulled through. While the injury ended her future as a working ranch horse, it never broke her spirit.

Fate brought Snickers back into our lives when we purchased our first two mares from Jalene, with Snickers being one of the first we brought to Brewster Ranch. I was especially excited about having her, as I had always recognized Snickers’ potential as a foal and knew she would be an incredible asset to our program. Snickers’ strength and resilience were evident even in the way she overcame her injury, thriving as a broodmare and passing on the best traits of her lineage.

Since then, Snickers has proven herself in her own unique way. She may not have become part of my string of saddle horses as originally planned, but her legacy lives on in her foals, who inherit her kind nature, strength, and durability. Her first colt, a striking foal by Hombre, was named Nacho. From the moment we laid eyes on him, we knew he was something special. His personality and presence were undeniable, and he quickly became a ranch favorite. Mark has claimed him as his own, and Nacho has since become a permanent saddle horse here at Brewster Ranch.

We are excited for the future with Nacho. He has already shown us that the cross between Snickers and Hombre is producing exactly what we want: kind, smart, gentle, stout ranch horses with a lot of talent. Nacho has proven to be everything we hoped for in a ranch horse. He’s hardworking, intelligent, and built to last. We can’t wait to use him more as he matures—he’s already shown he has the ability and temperament to handle whatever ranch life throws his way. It’s exciting to see Snickers and Hombre’s genetics coming together to produce such great horses, and Nacho is just the first of what we hope will be many more.

Snickers is built stout and solid, with good bone, a strong frame, and the kind of durability that comes from generations of thoughtful breeding. Her gentle temperament makes her easy to handle, and her quiet strength is a testament to her ability to overcome hardship. She exemplifies the type of mare who passes on not just physical traits, but also the heart and mind necessary for a good, reliable ranch horse.

Her bloodlines are a blend of Driftwood and Hancock, producing horses known for their toughness and cow sense. As a daughter of Shows Blue, Snickers carries the influence of two ranching legends, and her maternal side—through Quatros Candy Bar—adds another layer of ranch-worthy durability. These bloodlines combine to create horses that are not only physically tough but also possess the mental fortitude to handle the challenges of ranch life.

Snickers’ journey is a reminder that resilience and adaptability are as important in a broodmare as they are in a saddle horse. While she may not have followed the original path we envisioned, her legacy is carried on in her foals, each one a testament to her strength, her breeding, and the enduring spirit of a good ranch horse.

We are grateful to have Shows Drift Snickers in our program. Her story, though marked by challenge, reflects the heart of what it means to be a ranch horse: to endure, to adapt, and to give everything you have to the next generation. Her foals, like Nacho, are a continuation of that story, and we look forward to seeing them thrive on ranches across the country, carrying the Brewster Ranch name and the legacy of Snickers with pride.
